Peak Climbing in Nepal | Biggest Peaks in the World | Nepal Peak Climbing
'Respect the mountains’ is be the catch-phrase of trekkers as well as full-fledged mountaineers, and this is particularly true of our trekking peaks - those mountains that are negotiable only by properly experienced hikers but without much technical difficulty. While some of the so-called trekking peaks are easier to attempt than the expedition peaks, others are technically very demanding and require considerable climbing expertise. We recommend that you have at least some experience with crampons and snow bars before tackling a trekking peak. However, we do spend some time in Kathmandu before setting out for peak trekking to become fully acquainted with the itinerary and with any special techniques required.
Dolpo trek in Nepal | Upper Dolpo | Shey Gompa and Phoksundo Lake
Far behind the Dhaulagiri mountain range, Dolpa is almost completely cut off from development efforts of the outside world. It is one of the most isolated regions in Nepal. Dolpa was first opened to trekkers in 1990 and Inner Dolpo only in 1992. In spite of it’s beautiful landscapes and authentic culture, up till now it’s still a region which gets very few tourists. You can walk for days without meeting any other foreign trekkers. A very special experience as well!
Langtang trek in Nepal | Trek to Lake Gosaikunda | Trek in Nepal
Because the Langtang region is so accessible from Kathmandu, it is a highly favoured regions for travellers with less time to spare. Not only that, but it has all the high Himalayan scenery and cultural fascinations found in other regions of the Himalayas, but is much less crowded. Langtang has the added advantage of offering wilderness style treks with the true spirit of adventure, because many of its trails are still not greatly frequented. Many trekkers take the road from Kathmandu to Trisuli, Dhunche, or Syrabrubesi to begin hiking in this beautiful, predominantly alpine region. Langtang admittedly cannot boast any of the giant Himalayan peaks, but nonetheless its scenery is just as spectacular and photogenic as that on the more popular trails. The Langtang people are from the large and diverse Tamang clan and are Buddhist by faith. A visit to the Langtang Valley is a great opportunity to explore the colourful Tamang culture, as well as to climb some smaller peaks and explore glaciers at a more comfortable altitude than most of the other trekking regions.
