The Tamang Heritage Trail was solely crafted by Nepali NGOs to enhance the life of the local Tamang and create a golden chance for explorers to witness the real pristine mountains and authentic remote lifestyle of the indigenous people surviving in the Himalayas.

Langtang has been highlighted as the third most popular trekking destination after the Annapurna and Everest Base Camp treks, which also showcase the customary lives of the several ethnic tribes, primarily Tamang and Sherpa, under the protection of Langtang National Park. Both trekking trails pay homage to several monasteries and scenic intricating patterns of Tamang green valleys all in the encompassment of sky-preaching giants such as Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, Langtang Kerung, Jugal, and Ganesh as the key features of the Tamang Heritage Langtang Valley rambling route.

Depending on your preference, you can do a separate trek as well. However, when you set out for a 15-day Tamang Heritage and Langtang Valley combined trek, you will get a perfect blend of the Himalayan tranquility and culture with the portability of seeing some of the world’s exclusive flora and fauna. Had an amazing trek thru Langtang Valley, it was quite challenging in parts but all three ladies got thru with the help of our great guide and porter. The highlight was Kyanjin Gompa where it snowed overnight and we awoke to the majestic Himalayas and surrounds all white and the sky was blue and the sun shining. I would definitely recommend this trip it seems remote so not many tourists as on other treks I have been on, the accommodation is very adequate and the meals excellent. Thanks Rani for your help and for looking after us before and after the trip.
